Grubbs Infiniti and Highway Growing Pains

The State of Texas partnered with NTE Mobility Partners in October of 2010 to begin the 13 mile expansion along I-820 and SH 121/183 Airport Freeway. The project proposes to improve mobility to those traveling along this critical corridor by relieving traffic congestion and bottlenecks. The existing four lanes will become six main lanes with four toll-managed lanes, plus frontage roads and auxiliary lanes to allow for double the current capacity. The estimated 2015 completion date will bring enhanced safety and reliability to this area of Texas highway.

Currently, the direct connect from westbound SH 183 to northbound SH 121 is permanently closed for new construction and traffic is being redirected to use the previous exit at Murphy Drive/Westpark Way. Grubbs Infiniti is located along this corridor at 1661 W. Airport Freeway in Euless and can be accessed via the new Murphy exit.

As with any growth, there are growing pains and we are experiencing our own just as motorists do as they travel through construction. One change we are preparing for is the expansion of the frontage road in front of our property. We are currently working to reconfigure the front parking area and the movement of signage to allow for the expansion. Never fear, the Grubbs Infiniti sign displaying the time will continue to offer this service to motorists. Although it is currently a challenge to travel through this span of highway, it is exciting to see the improvements and progress.
