Grubbs Infiniti and Miss Texas 2014

George Grubbs III and Monique Evans Post

As my daughter grows up, I hope and pray that she’ll be happy, successful and have a bright future.  I hope she follows her heart and her dreams.  Of course I think she’s the most beautiful, wonderful, smart and talented kid on the planet and I’m sure I’m not the only father who feels this way.  In fact, I can only imagine how proud Monique Evan’s father was when she was crowned Miss Texas 2014 last Saturday night at the 79th Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.  Meeting her when she visited Grubbs Infiniti, I knew that Monique Evans is a young woman with a very bright future.

Produced by the Miss Texas Organization, the Miss Texas competition exists for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young Texas women and promoting their voice in culture, politics and community. The competition was founded in 1936 by a group of civic-minded citizens concerned about higher education. The first Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant has evolved into what is recognized today as one of the best organized and well managed of all state pageants.

Grubbs Infiniti has been a proud sponsor of the Miss Texas Scholarship pageant for four years and we donate the use of an Infiniti during her reign. When I spoke with her, Monique told me she always knew she wanted to be a doctor.  “My father suffered a heart attack when he was 60.  After that, I wanted to go into preventative medicine.” she said.  “He loves his steak and potatoes. Don’t we all, but you have to have it in moderation.”  Watching what he endured inspired her to work to help others live healthy lives to prevent heart disease. “I love my dad. I wouldn’t be where I am now without him,” she said.  Miss Texas is a nutritional science pre-med major at the University of Texas.

Here at Grubbs Infiniti, we’re proud to continue to sponsor this worthwhile organization.  The Miss America Organization is the largest donor of scholarship assistance for young women, awarding over $45 million annually. Miss Texas 2014 will receive a $10,000 cash scholarship and you’ll see her around Texas driving her beautiful new Infiniti from Grubbs Infiniti.  You’ll probably meet her at one of our many Drive2Give programs here in North Texas or the grand opening of our newest… and the world’s largest… new Infiniti dealership in Grapevine in 2015.  And, as this vivacious and gracious young woman faces a bright future, I’ll hope that one day my little girl will also be inspired to follow her heart and her dreams as well.
